The Ideal

Howdy y’all!

My name is Ricky, I am a kid from a small town in Northern New Mexico, who moved to a small city on the edge of Texas. Which edge? Who knows!? I don’t. I am just here pretending to live my life like a dog in rich suburbia; eating, sleeping, and chewing on priceless vintage pearls who were given to my dog parent because the other dog parent was caught having an affair.

Anyway!! Today, I am doing one of the scariest things for me, and that is putting myself out there in the internet. For a very long time, I have been wanting to start my own blog, but I never did because it was not ready. I have been saying that for 5 years, and I never posted a single thing. I did not start because my blog was not to the level I wanted my blog to be. I guess I was expecting to create a multi billion-dollar website. I don’t have a billion dollars, so I never posted. Not even a tasteful booty pic on Instagram to get a whopping 3 likes and 1 pervy DM.

This way of thinking prevented me from writing, just because I thought my content was never ready. I also started to pay attention to people and I also saw that people were not truly living their truths because they were not in a place where they wanted to be. If we wait for the perfect time, we might never accomplish anything. I used to think that just because I was not in New York, or LA it meant that I could not have a creative life, especially a creative job. This meant that I spent all my life wishing I could be in these big cities, and never truly live in the moment. I have been in this small city, but my head and my heart were in other states. This is a lesson I am trying to learn from. To work with what I got, and with time, me and my blog will get where we are meant to be.
