Time to Count Your Blessings

  The rumors are true, I tested positive for COVID. Not only was I positive, but it nearly wiped me out. It was not fun, my people. I was sick for 14 days and out of those 14, 5 were hell. I have never been this sick. This sickness was a true challenge for my body and my psyche. Luckily I had my mom with me (out of danger) and she helped me emotionally and mentally. There was a fear that fucked with my head and it took all of my power to remain calm and positive. As much as my body was hurting and my respiratory system being threatened, truly, the fear was the one that I had to control. Feeling horrible on top of listening to the news about deaths and open cases shattered me. With the help of a strong mother, many tea concoctions, and a full pharmacy, I was able to recover and test negative.   This brings me to this week, Thanksgiving week. I finally feel like things are starting to get back to normal. And how appropriate that it’s the week where we celebrate our blessings. I am always
